About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Public Health and Psychiatry Research (PHPR) journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access, online-only journal. It publishes high-quality original scientific papers, critical and relevant reviews, systematic reviews, methodological papers, theoretical research, editorials, short communications and case reports related to any domain and discipline of public health and psychiatry. Only those manuscripts, the contents of which have not been published and are not being considered for publication in any other journal, are considered for publication. PHPR is a bi-annual journal published in March and September of the year. There is no article processing charge.
Open Access Policy
The journal provides immediate access to it on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange. All articles published by PHPR are made freely and permanently accessible online. All articles will be assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier), whereby they become searchable and citable without delay.
Plagiarism Policy
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works and that none of the parts of the manuscripts are plagiarized from any other source. Proper reference should be provided whenever anything is extracted from a source. If any article is proven to be plagiarized, the PHPR editorial board would take immediate and strict action against the authors, ranging from rejection of the manuscript to preclusion of the authors from any future publication in the journal.
Editorial Process
The manuscripts will be reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that they are being submitted to one journal at a time and have not been published, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. The editors will review all submitted manuscripts according to the PHPR guidelines. Manuscripts with insufficient originality, serious scientific and technical flaws, or lacking a significant message are rejected. If good articles are written poorly, then the authors are requested to re-submit after revision according to the PHPR format. All manuscripts received are duly acknowledged. They are sent to two expert reviewers without revealing the identity of the contributors. The PHPR editors review each manuscript meticulously based on the reviewers' comments and decide to either reject or publish it. The contributors will be informed about the reviewers’ comments and acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. Articles accepted will be copy-edited for grammar, punctuation, print style and format. Page proofs will be sent to the corresponding author and must be returned to the editorial office within ten days. Non-response may delay the article's publication or even result in rejection.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts are subject to peer review and are expected to meet standards of excellence. Reviews are double-blind; the author's identity is unknown to the reviewer, and vice versa. Authors are requested to suggest the names, affiliations and contact information, including an email address of 3-4 individuals who may be suitable to serve as reviewers. Before being sent to reviewers, manuscripts are pre-screened by the editor to check that manuscripts are in line with PHPR submission criteria. If the manuscript does not fulfil the criteria, it may be rejected at this stage without review.
Copyright
Open-access authors retain the copyrights of their papers. All open-access articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
Publication Ethics
PHPR maintains a strict policy against predatory publication or any form of ethical or unprofessional practice that may lead to the appearance of a misdemeanour and failure of duty as a publisher.
